Hello Everyone:

Now that you have your no chip gel nails by Bio Sculpture here is my article on how you soak off the gel:

Now that clients are wearing the No chip manicure and it looks great there comes a time when you will have to remove the product. Clients may need to remove the product for business, private, or surgical reasons but are not able to return to the salon and/or spa for removal. Customers are being told that there is a special product or solvent that they need in order to remove the product and yes the company does carry their own solvent for removal of the no chip manicure. However; clients should know how to remove the product safely just in case they are unable to return to the salon and or spa. The removal of the No Chip Manicure (black and gold jars) is less damaging because of the "soak off," method. Here are ten steps to help you remove and soak off the the no chip manicure at home and/or on vacation.

First: start off by removing any nail polish with polish remover and then buffing off the shine of the product with a nail file. What you have on top of your no chip gel nails is a protective top gel, either its the clear gel or the s-gel. File away the shine until it is dull looking. Make sure you break the seal at the tips and alongside the nail bed. Wipe away the nail filings.

Second: Apply cuticle cream and file your nails to your desired shape.

Third: Place aluminum foil "enough to wrap your finger,'" underneath the finger.

Fourth: If your nail tech did not provide you with the gel solvent; you can use 100% acetone to soak off the product. Dip wipes or cotton (pulled a thin piece of cotton from cotton ball) in solvent and place directly on nail and wrap foil around nail.

Fifth: Place hands in plastic bag and underneath heating lamp or heat bag for fifteen minutes. Allow seven minutes for every extra layer of gel.

Sixth: Go back to the first finger to check for lifting of the gel. Use an orangewood stick or metal file to remove gel (Some techs use their finger nails to remove clients gel (no comment); you can use your nails if you wish). DO NOT FORCE THE REMOVAL OF THE NO CHIP GEL this will cause peeling of your natural nails which in turn causes weakening of the natural nail. You can either rewrap the finger or use cuticle oil for stubborn spots.

Seventh: Wash your hands of the filings and gel residue.

Eighth: Apply cuticle conditioning/oil and rub into cuticles for treatment.

Ninth: Soak hands in (with cuticle conditioning) in warm soapy water for about 3 minutes.

Tenth: Wash hands again and apply moisturizing lotion.

Many salons may tell you that you HAVE to come back to them for removal of the no chip manicure and this is highly recommended however; situations may occur in which there is no way for some clients to return within that 2-3 weeks time frame. Salons/spas can sale their clients the no chip gel removal kits with instructions or just educate their clients on how to remove this amazing products that only takes 15 minutes to remove. I myself show my clients for free upon the first return visit how to soak off and remove my no chip application; charging them a fee the next time for the soak off and removal of the gel.

Some clients don't want to be bothered with the hassle of the removal themselves; and this is understandable. But just in case your on a business trip that requires you to move to another state or that honeymoon that took longer than you expected you now know how to soak off and remove your no chip manicure safe at home.
